Greetings from Alki Lodge No. 152.

The month of April was almost as busy as the past months. We had our Stated Meeting in April 7th with RW Gale H. Kenney as our Guest Speaker, who spoke about the four generations of Masonry and how environmental changes affected people’s lives, thoughts and learning from generation to generation. Once again, our Ladies joined us in the Lodge Room on a call off session and enjoyed hearing another inspiring and very interesting pitch, this time, from our SGW. Thank you, RW Sir.

We had such a great dinner prepared by WB Alan Sawyer, WB Jeff Tosh, WB Greg Martin and Bro. Michael Mann. Thank you for sharing the product of your culinary skills. Also, thanks to ladies who brought some home-made specialties.

The degree team at Alki Lodge No. 152 is now getting busier with new members joining the Lodge. We have initiated Bro. Scott Marshall as our youngest Entered Apprentice Mason in April 14th and we passed a degree of Fellowcraft Mason to Bro. Alex Madlangbayan and Bro. Jason Tharpe in April 21st. We also welcomed Bro. Steve Wilson as plural member during our Stated Meeting in April 7th. Hope this trend keeps on going.

We also joined the traditional gathering of the Brethren from the nine (9) different lodges in the south sound, dubbed as the Wednesday Night Lodges. The event was held in April 23rd and was hosted by Parkland-Lakewood Lodge #299 at Dryer Masonic Center, 306 134th St S, Parkland, WA. 98444. What a great fellowship we had with the Brethren and thank you for the great accommodation.

We are happy to announce our May events:

May 5th — Stated Meeting (Official Visit of DDGM in District #6) VWB Alden D. Sarmiento will be our Honorable Guest Speaker for the night. Potluck dinner at 6:15 PM and will be hosted by WB Dick Syson, WB Don Moore , WB Alvin Taylor and WB Marcel Maddox who will prepare special dishes for everybody.

May 8th — Lodge visit to Ark Lodge No. 126 at 7:30 PM.

May 19th — School Awards Night at 7:15 PM. Alki Lodge No. 152 will be awarding Scholarship Awards to the outstanding Junior Class Students in West Seattle High School and Chief Sealth High School. WB Elmer Lindseth, chairman of the School Awards Committee will be hosting the event. The Grand Lodge scholarship award will also be announced. Refreshments will be served at 6:30 PM.

May 24th — District 6 Meeting at Alki Lodge No. 152 (6:00 PM) VWB Alden D. Sarmiento, DDGM, and all the Lodges in District #6 will be welcoming MWB Wayne I. Smith, Grand Master of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of F&AM of Washington.

May 26th — Third Degree Conferral of Bro. Alex Madlangbayan and Bro. Jason Tharpe.

May 31st — Alki Lodge No. 152 will host a Pasta Dinner at 5:00 PM for the benefit of the Rainbow Girls. Tickets will be available soon.
